A group photo of the ILC workshop at KEK, November 2004The Superconducting Particle Accelerator Forum of America (SPAFOA) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (6) corporation registered in the District of Columbia providing a formal network for its U.S. industry members with a common business interests to interact with government funded efforts during the research, development, design, manufacture and siting of major government sponsored particle accelerator programs based on superconducting radio frequency (SCRF) technology.  Membership is subject to the approval of the SPAFOA Board of Directors (BOD) and is open to industries performing or interested in performing SCRF accelerator business in the Americas, laboratory management contractors and universities. The SPAFOA has established the following three levels of membership

 

Silver: Receive SPAFOA Newsletters, bulletins, and white papers on all active large government funded superconducting particle accelerator programs. The Newsletter will include information on the schedule, R&D progress, technical issues, and upcoming procurement activities on programs that are currently receiving federal funding. It will also include information on major technical conferences such as the ILC Americas Regional team meeting and PAC 09. Silver members will be invited to all forum sponsored meetings, however a registration fee may be required if the meeting costs become excessive. Fees will not be required for any Capitol Hill meetings. ($500.00/ year)

 

Gold:  Receive all the benefits of the silver membership plus members at the gold level will not be charged any fees for SPAFOA sponsored meetings. Gold members will be eligible to serve on the SPAFOA board of directors and will also receive a monthly Washington activities report and timely legislative bulletins when Congress is in session.  The activities report will include a summary of SPAFOA meetings with Congressional leadership and staff of the principal authorization and appropriations committees for DOE and NSF science programs.  ($2000.00/ year)

 

Platinum:  Receive all the benefits of a gold membership plus direct SPAFOA support for company visits to Washington on advanced accelerator programs. This support will include recommendations and arrangements for meeting(s) and briefing(s) on relevant issues with legislative and executive offices.  Background will be provided on members of congress and staff contacts as well as well as identification of related SPAFOA matters of interest for the visit.  ($10,000/ year)
